Christmas in July

Indigo Holiday Preview 2012, gift wrapping by Corinna vanGerwen Ready for Christmas yet? No? Yeah, with summer in full swing, the holidays are the furthest thing from most people's minds, but in my world, it's all snowflakes, reindeer and glitter.

Not only am I working on several holiday stories for a few magazines, but this past Thursday I also had the pleasure of spending the day at the Indigo head office for its Holiday 2012 media preview, an event to show off all the upcoming products to magazine editors, writers and other journalists. (Magazines work several months ahead so the holiday stories are all written and photographed in the summer.) Usually I would be at the media event as a guest, being introduced to the holiday product along with other writers and editors. But this year I was part of the Indigo crew: I wrapped the gifts on display to showcase the company's holiday gift wrap line.

Above is just one part of what I wrapped for the installation, and it gives you a little peek at what you'll find in Indigo stores come November. The two small gifts in front feature gift tags from the popular Rifle Paper Co. The pine cones on the gold paper in the back are allĀ flocked; the glittery, plaid ribbon has wired edges (great for making big bows). The brass-coloured pine cone topper is an ornament that will also be available at Indigo stores.

Once it's a little closer to Christmas, I'll share some more photos with you. Just wanted to give you little preview for now and let you know what I've been up to.
